Background

Kathmandu is facing a multitude of fine particle emissions from anthropogenic sources. In this research, we aim to assess the impact of transboundary air pollution from New Delhi, India to Kathmandu, Nepal via remote sensing and field-based air sampling

Major Responsibilities:

The research assistant will be responsible for satellite data analysis, modelling, data validation, report writing, presentation in seminars/workshop and carry out assignments given by the supervisor.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have at least a BS degree in Environmental Science, Physics or other relevant disciplines. The candidate should have good command in Python programming language, Arc-GIS, experience with MODIS data and knowledge in WRF modeling. The candidate should be focused and willing to follow the ethics of research work, able to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. Preference will be given to women candidates and with knowledge on air pollution. This is a full-time job. Working hour 9 am to 5pm, five days a week.
