EGEA Nepal Meeting Concludes
Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences (KIAS) recently hosted a project meeting for “Enhancing Green Economy in Three Countries of Asia (EGEA)” project in Kathmandu, Nepal. The meeting was held from 17th to 19th October 2019 at Radisson Hotel. The Erasmus+ co-funded EGEA project aims to strengthen capacity of higher education institutions (HEIs) to prepare well-trained human resources in the Kyrgyz Republic, Nepal and India. This project is being implemented by 16 research institutions and universities including KIAS, Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University from eight different countries evaluating green economy policy and practices. Forty-one participants from 15 partner institutions from 7 countries participated in the Kathmandu meeting.
The meeting focused on summarizing the tasks completed so far and way forward by the respective countries. It also included an invited talk by Dr. Madhav Karki, Executive Director at the Center for Green Economy Development, Nepal on “Green economy in Nepal”.

In addition to participating in this meeting, a few of the participants also delivered oral and poster presentations at the 4th International conference on Mountains in the Changing World. The conference was hosted by KIAS in the same hotel from 18th to 19thOctober, 2019.
