KIAS signs MOU with CDHM, Tribhuvan University

Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences (KIAS) and  Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (CDHM), Tribhuvan University, Nepal signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for mutual co-operation to promote hydro-meteorological studies in Nepal. The agreement signals renewed commitment between KIAS and CDHM to foster basic and applied research through collaboration and training. The MoU also enables to train graduate students at CDHM to develop a drought assessment and monitoring model in Nepal using satellite datasets.

Center of Water and Atmospheric Research (CenWAR), a constitute research center of KIAS, conducts hydro-meteorological research to provide a scientific basis for the sustainable management and development of Hindu Kush-Himalayan Region’s atmospheric, fresh water systems and associated resources

This partnership was signed today by Dr. Prakash K. Paudel, Executive Director, KIAS and Prof. Dr. Deepk Aryal, head of department, CDMH, TU. Dr. Hemu Kafle, Scientist in CenWAR at KIAS and Dr. Dibas Shrestha, Assistant Professor, CDMH, TU, were present at the ceremony.
